With almost every entrance exam being postponed or cancelled, students are anxious to know if the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) which is scheduled for August 1 will also be delayed in view of the ongoing COVID-19 and the recent spike in the active cases across the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently postponed the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) for the April 2021 session.
While the Covid cases are increasing at a high rate, medical students have asked for the postponement of NEET UG Exams. NEET UG is the sole examination for shortlisting candidates to the undergraduate medical exams. This year, the results of NEET can be used for admission to more programmes including in admission to BSc Nursing and Health Science programmes.
Wave two of the Covid-19 pandemic is even worse than the first one and is affecting a large number of people. Among the crisis, keeping the safety of the students is the utmost priority. CBSE and many other state boards have either postponed or cancelled the exams for this year. Not only the students appearing in board exams have requested for postponement, but aspirants of NEET 2021 and other national level entrance exams are also demanding the same. This year, almost every student could not attend school as well as coaching classes due to the Covid-19 situation, all such students are requesting the Education Minister to postpone the National Eligibility cum entrance test (NEET-UG) 2021. But, so far there is no final decision that has come out.
So far, the National Testing Agency has only released the NEET 2021 date and the registration for the same has not yet started. Also, the NEET UG 2021 information bulletin is yet to be released.
Hence, students must not waste their time and utilize their time properly
Do not waste time – Although students should give proper time to recreational activities during lockdown it is important that students understand when they need to stop. Students should not waste their time watching TV, playing video games. They should know how much time should be invested for such activities.
Follow a time-table – In order to be regular in studies during lockdown, students should make a time table and follow it religiously. Students should prepare a time table such that all the subjects of the exam get equal time. Students should take up the important chapters first, so they should make the time table accordingly.
Attempt Mock tests – In order to keep regularity in studies, students should try to attempt more and more mock tests. These mock tests are based on the actual pattern of the exam so they give a real feel of examination to the students. Along with this, students are also able to analyze their performance through these mock tests. Students can then work on their weaker areas.
