5 Minute Read

If you want to crack IIT JEE in 6 months, then go no further. This blog will give a complete summary of what you must be doing in each of these months. In addition, each month make sure to take mock tests regarding the topics you have studied.

Month 1: In the first month, you have to ensure that you gather all the required materials for the exam, from books ( physical copies or the pdfs ) to all the previous year’s question papers with answers. Then once you have familiarized yourself with what you have to study, start by studying one of the easiest topics in all 3 subjects: physics, chemistry, and Mathematics. If you start with the easier topics instead of, the harder ones, you will feel motivated and will feel rewarded when you study. Study for at least 3 – 5 hours in the first month.

Month 2: Continue studying. Increase the study hours to at least 6 or 7 hours. This way, you will ensure that most of your day you will be studying for JEE, which is completely necessary because 6 months is less time to cover such a vast syllabus across 3 subjects. Know that you have to finish the entire syllabus within 5 months. So make sure you are covering the syllabus quickly.

Month 3: Studying for 7 hours a day should feel comfortable to you. Then increase the study hours to 8 or 9. Study really hard. Jump through all the challenges you face. Know your goal. Remind yourself of the end. Dedicate yourself completely towards preparation. Nothing else should be in your mind. Study the tougher topics. You must have covered around 60 % of the syllabus by the end of month 3.

Month 4: Start to study at around 8 or 9 hours each day. You will feel very confident as you know you are making a lot of progress. Dedicating more hours each day than other students will put you in the lead. Remember to take care of your mental health as well. Do not neglect it. Also, take care of your physical health. Sleep plenty. Around 80% of the syllabus must be finished by the end of this month.

Month 5: This is the month where you have finished the entire syllabus. Studying for long hours will have become commonplace for you.

Month 6: Since you have already finished the entire syllabus in month 5, start to practice full-length mock tests and analyze them, know where you are going wrong and try to learn from your mistakes. Then also go through and solve the previous year’s question papers. This way, you will have a great idea of how the exam conditions will be and the type of questions they may ask. Revise the syllabus completely.
