TIPS FOR PREPARING PHYSICS -NEET UG 2021

Tips for NEET UG

Remember that smart work and an angular study are required to crack NEET. First remember, quality over quantity is very important. You don’t need to go through a myriad of books to score well in Physics.

Before going on to the best books for physics, let me clear your mind if you are having thoughts of leaving physics or taking it lite! thinking that medical students are not so good with it. Never do that! I repeat never do that!

So here is a list of books for PHYSICS for NEET:

NCERT: Always prioritize this! NCERT books are the primary reference books for all higher secondary subjects by the Central Board for Secondary Education. It is possible to crack the Exam by reading and understanding the NCERT books exhaustively! But make sure you read other materials too.

Coaching notes: You can read your coaching material. Make sure you are well versed with it, complete all the exercises and practice sessions. Other than this, Allen and Akash’s coaching notes are highly recommended for the preparation of NEET / AIIMS / JIPMER along with NCERT.

After you are done with the above two books, go to:

Concepts of Physics Vol I and II by H.C.Verma –

Known for: Concept Building, Basic Numericals, Simple Language, Methodically organized. Concepts are extensive, logical, and engaging

Best pick for beginners to have a complete grasp on the subject

Suggested Topics: Mechanics, Electrostatics, Optics, Modern Physics, Heat, and waves.

Arihant’s Objective Physics for NEET, by D.C.Pandey

Known for: Complete solutions for all problems, Entrance corner, Questions grouped by difficulty level. Several reference examples

The systematic pattern of questions i.e. concepts arranged in increasing level of difficulty.

A separate section called Entrance Corner focuses on question patterns, especially for competitive exams.

MTG’s Objective NCERT at your fingertips for NEET, by Prof Satya Prakash Arya- Known for formula archive, types of Mcqs, model test papers. Various Mcqs, All the formulas are consolidated in one place which makes revision easier.

Concepts of Physics for CBSE PMT, by Agarwal

Known for: Practice problems

One of the most popular books for medical entrance exams as it caters to nearly all types of students

Has numerous questions of the same difficulty level as NEET

Also contains questions of different difficulty levels, based on other medical exams.

Then comes the most important chapters for NEET 2021 Physics

The most important topic for NEET Physics from class 11th syllabus is Mechanics. On average 11-12 questions are asked from this important topic in NEET every year.

Topics such as Semi-conductors, Heat and Thermodynamics, Laws of Motion, Kinematics, Work Energy & Power, and Rotational Motion are also important and you need to practice thoroughly these important topics to score well in Physics in your NEET exam.

Modern Physics, from class 12th syllabus, is the most important topic for NEET.

Current Electricity & Magnetism, Electrostatics, and Optics are also very important chapters for NEET 2020 and you should thoroughly prepare and practice these topics.

Physics is a subject that demands practice along with patience. So, the key is simple, if you want to score more you need to practice more. Looking at the numerical and cramming formula won’t do the magic, you need to solve the questions by yourself so you can understand the logic.

Get crystal clear concepts– No matter how many questions you solve or how many books you practice you will unlikely be able to solve a new question during the pressure of exam until and unless you are good with concepts. For that; be attentive during the lectures in class, discuss questions with friends ask yours and solve theirs, solve different types of questions without seeing the solutions, Try to solve additional exercises of NCERT and, analyze your understanding. Also, give a read to the theory of the chapter (Ncert and module will suffice).

Instead of focusing on hi-fi questions, try to go for some basic, tricky questions- This is something I say from experience. For the past 10 years, the paper pattern is fixed. Only 10% of questions require high intelligence. Rest depend on your speed and accuracy.

Be time-bound- Try solving a set of problems in a limited time. Time management is a very important segment of this examination.

Practice the ‘Approximate Calculations’. This trick was so useful this year. Lengthy calculations in physics ought to gulp up your time. Taking approximate values makes them easy. But this common sense comes only if you have practiced it innumerable times.
