NEET MDS Cut off reduced by over 23 percentile: Here’s What You Need to Know!

MoHFW( Ministry of health and family welfare reduced the NEET MDS 2021 cut-off by 23.09 percentile. This is for both reserved and unreserved category candidates. The new and revised cut-off of NEET MDS for general category candidates is 26.971 percentile and for reserved category(SC/ST/OBC) candidates is 16.91 percentile 21.971 percentile for UR-PWD category candidates.

The Health Ministry has asked the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to release the revised NEET MDS result in accordance with the reduced qualifying percentile immediately. These reduced NEET MDS cut-offs are applicable for the years 2021-22.

A communique shared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) stated: “Ministry has decided to lower the qualifying cut-off percentile for NEET-MDS, 2021 by 23.029 percentile for each category (General. SC/ST/OBC and UR-PWD) in pursuance of the 24 provisoes in clause 7(1) of DCI’s Master of Dental Surgery Course (15! Amendment) Regulations. 2018. The qualifying percentiles for NEET-MDS 2021 for the academic session 2021-22”

Common counseling is conducted for all NEET MDS qualified candidates and admission is given to postgraduate courses(Diploma/MDS) in all dental educational institutions on the basis of merit list.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) conducts the NEET MDS counseling for the 50% All India Quota seats of the contributing States

Counseling for all state quota seats is conducted by the state government or any authority designated by the state government.

In view of few seats remaining vacant in WB PG Dental 2021 counseling after completion of centralized manual mop up and in pursuance of the order of the Dental Council of India (DCI) along with notice of the Govt. of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, a college-level mop up shall be held after fresh registration for the eligible candidates through NEET MDS 2021 (those who have not registered earlier in WB PG 2021 counseling including that newly becoming eligible after reduction of cut off in NEET MOS 2021 examination), said the WBMCC notice.

The candidates who are already registered but remained not allotted till completion of centralized manual mop up, are also allowed to participate in the college mop up if they wish. They do not need to register again.

Admitted candidates, not reported candidates, surrendered candidates, or candidates whose seat got canceled due to failure in document verification and thereby got out of the counseling process, cannot participate in such college mop-up counseling.
