ABOUT PREPARATION IN BIOLOGY
Here’s my story on neet preparation. Initially, on my preparation day, I had issues with biology and usually devoted more time to physics and chemistry, but later I came to know that Biology is the most important aspect of any medical entrance exam.
So, I approached Biology in a new and interesting manner. It is important to note that NCERT is the holy book and it is important to focus on NCERT. But the point here is that we should also focus equally on other modules as they help us in understanding the basic concept of NCERT.
BUT FORGET MY STORY AND LET’S FOCUS ON THE ACTUAL PLAN!
Plan Your Preparation well: You should assign a fixed number of chapters to each week and cover topics as per the schedule.
Focus on NCERT Books: Firstly, You must go through the Biology syllabi of the NEET exam. You must follow NCERT books to grab a thorough understanding of the basic concepts since most of the questions are based on NCERT Book concepts.
Practice MCQs: You must practice and solve an ample number of MCQs based on different topics from different comprehensive books and the Internet.
You must lay a lot of emphasis on topics like Human physiology, Diversity in the living world, Genetics and Evolution, Biotechnology and its application, Structural organization in plants and animals, etc as a large number of questions have been asked from these topics over a past few years.
Be thoroughly Prepared with Diagrams: You must thoroughly prepare diagrams of NCERT as a lot of questions in the exam are diagram-based.
Refer to Previous year’s neet papers: You must refer to AIPMT papers of previous years as it will help you get a thorough idea of the questions pattern and will serve as the best way to prepare for the NEET exam.
Thorough Revision– Revise each topic at least twice before appearing for the exam.
To go brief,
-Read the whole topic you are doing.
-Understand it fully in its regard.
-Make notes in such manner like it is your own identity as like;
Create the diagrams on your own, which mostly applies to anatomy and physiology regarding its location. E.g., Inflorescence. The diagrams you make are only for your understanding and need not be scientific.
-Make lots and lots of flow charts. Never write your notes in paragraphs or even in bullet points.
-Make a habit of writing the topic which has many subtopics but all of them have the same point of information to be writing in Tabular form.
If you want to give your 100%, then squeeze the NCERT books and thoroughly revise them as much as you can.
