The Union Health Ministry postponed the NEET PG test for 2022 on February 4th. According to the Ministry of Health, the exam, which was scheduled on March 12, has been pushed back by 6-8 weeks. New dates have not yet been finalized, but they are likely to be announced soon.
Why This decision was taken?
In a communication issued to Dr. M Bajpai, executive director of NBE, Dr. B Srinivas, Assistant Director General (Medical Education) and Member Secretary of the Medical Counselling Committee stated that a large number of requests were received from medical practitioners demanding that the NEET-PG 2022 examination be postponed because it clashed with the NEET PG 2021 counseling.
NEET PG 2022 exam date has been set for March 12, 2022. The Union Health Ministry has decided, however, to postpone the exam by 6-8 weeks, as requested by many students. The National Board of Examinations, or NBE, has been told to postpone the exam and not hold it on the scheduled day.
The National Board of Examinations has yet to comment on the postponement of NEET PG 2022. Registration and other dates will be updated soon since the orders have just arrived. The exam registration deadline was also today, February 4, 2022. As a result of this notification, the deadline may be extended or amended.
Plea To Supreme court-
The Supreme Court was scheduled to hear a request to postpone the exam on Friday. The plea was entered on January 25. Six MBBS students petitioned the Supreme Court because many candidates failed to meet several conditions, including the mandatory internship. Many internships, they claim, were halted due to their Covid commitments.
The condition stated in the information bulletin was contested at the Supreme Court. The deadline for completing the internship is May 31, 2022, according to the document. Internships were delayed because final-year MBBS students were assigned to COVID duty to assist with the COVID-19 issue in India.
According to one of the NEET PG requirements, a hospital’s 30 beds must be assigned to one unit of PG students, and now, according to the appeal, two students from two academic sessions will have to be accommodated in the same facility.
